Become a Pilot Family Day Hosts 9th Year in Loudoun

Aircraft lovers and those who aspire to become pilots can soon enjoy the breathtaking annual Become a Pilot Family Day event with their family. The highly-anticipated event is celebrating its 9th year with new activities and surprises for regular and first-time attendees alike.

About 50 aircrafts will be featured, falling under many different categories and designs. Participants can enjoy a blast from the past with vintage aircrafts or dream of having their own recreational plane. There will also be home-built aircrafts that will inspire aircraft lovers.  And, for those who want to see something spectacular, the Solar Impulse, which is an innovative aircraft powered by the sun, will showcase an outdoor display.

Those who want to take part in this memorable event can visit the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center on June 15, 2013 from 10am to 3pm. Admission is free for all, but there will be a parking fee of $15.
