I’m Beamer – Follow Me To Tell Me Town!

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 8.23.08 AMHi, my name is Beamer. I’m a therapy dog. I tell stories of my life growing up that mirror those of a child. I live in a wonderful place called Tell Me Town with my best friend Kyle and his family. We have lots of friends.

Cindy Chambers, a longtime resident of Loudoun County and member of The Inova Loudoun Hospital Foundation Board and 100 Women Strong, created us. We are all part of The Beamer Book Series. She created Tell Me Town too because she wanted a happy, healthy place for children and their families to visit.

My Beamer Books are written to help children understand challenging life events while reducing their fears and introducing them to some of the wonderful people who help us along the way.

Many of the characters in my stories are inspired by real people who live right here in Loudoun County.

Dr. Puccio is one of my friends in the books. He is teh director of Emergency Medicine right here at Inova Loudoun Hospital. In my stories he is Tell Me Town’s beloved Dr. Poochio. I first meet him when I hurt my leg and have to go to the hospital in my first book, Beamer Visits The Emergency Room.  I meet lots of other nice people there too. They all help me feel better and they become my buddies.

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 8.23.26 AMCindy decided this should be my first book because millions of children each year go to the emergency room. She wanted to reduce their fears and bring them comfort by introducing them to some of the wonderful and compassionate people who are there to help us, like Dr. Puccio.

Kyle and I exist in real life, too. We are so happy that Cindy decided to write these books. She did it to help children; but she also did it to create a way for all of us to participate in giving back. You see, she donates the net proceeds from the sales of the books to charities.

She has written to other books in the series and there are five more scheduled to be released this year. You will probably know many of the characters in these stories, too.

My Beamer books are in so many places around the country now. They are even at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jim Huber draws us. He brings all the characters to life and gives us wonderful personalities. We really appreciate him. He is so talented and fun!

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 8.23.39 AMThe book series was launched in September of 2012. Since then, thousands and thousands of Beamer books have been sold. Because of that, Cindy was able to donate over $25,000 to charities in our area in just the first three months!

I would love for you to visit us at www.tellmetown.com. There you can see me and become my buddy. You can see Kyle and try out for a team at our Tell Me Town stadium or visit Dr. Poochio and get a certificate from him for doing good things. You can also get our books and contact us if you are interested in a Beamer Book Program. There are lots of pictures to see and it’s a lot of fun.

Cindy, Jim and all of us in Tell Me Town are looking forward to releasing more and more books in my book series. That way, we will be able to provide comfort to lots of children while helping charities in our area for years to come!  We would love to work on a Beamer Book Program with you, so please stop by for a visit and contact us; it’s all good.

You can “Like” Tell Me Town on Facebook and see lots of great pictures!
