When you dream
Beyond measure, move mountains
Even if only in your mind
Nothing about haste is great
Hear the wonder of your whispering heart
Always after the tears
Stay steady. Strong. Selfless.
Believe. Become. Let Go. Be.
Nothing is Impossible,
NOTHING is impossible
You just gotta believe. -dcs
As a young girl, I spent hours in my bedroom with pen in hand, journal nearby and heart open with a passion to share words. Often alone in thought and with a creative spark, I passionately wrote poetry, stories, read – a lot and studied the delivery of dancing with words to help others. A deep thinker and dreamer at heart, I saw visions of words from “my write” in books, on cards, and anything I could grab hold to as sharing through words was not a choice but instead it chose me.
Muse is my music and words became my best friend. Through books I discovered – people, visited far places and sought new ideas beyond measure. Amongst my favorite authors included Edna St. Vincent Millay, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker and Zora Neale Hurston who wrote “Their Eyes Were Watching God” – a classic and favorite book of mine.
Too, I discovered the late great Dr. Maya Angelou. Fortunate to have met her three times in my life, I am honored to be a part of her history and bring it to us all – HERE in Loudoun County.
The visionary, writer, dancer, poet, dancer and spiritual teacher – Dr. Angelou beyond measure has touched many. Honored to be a part of her legendary history, I hope you will join us, May 22 at the Fundraiser in Sterling, VA to be benefit students in YEAR UP!
I am honored that I was recently invited to be a part of a documentary to honor Dr. Angelou. Hallmark Cards, along with Oprah Winfrey are producing a documentary. We hope to take messages and moments from the event, share them in the documentary and again make history in Loudoun County. Please join us: a collection of Dr. Angelou’s card line now secured by Hallmark Cards, including her writings, books and artifacts will be with us. Her Driver, Mr. Bryant, will be attending and the Rolls Royce will be on display.
Again, dear readers, Cover WOMAN ladies, community and followers… I am humbly amazzzed. I look forward to seeing you in print, digitally, out and about in Loudoun and soon in a documentary!
Happy Spring! Warmly, Dorri
