Rebuilding Traditions at the Annual Lucketts Fair

Rebuilding Traditions at the Annual Lucketts Fair

The Old Lucketts School, built in 1913, was one of the first multi-room buildings in Loudoun County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. People in the community have a deep love and appreciation for the old school, and to this day, continue to make efforts to preserve and maintain it.

The school building has become a venue for gatherings and now serves as a beautiful background to the Annual Lucketts Fair.  Since 1972, the community has gathered for the Annual Lucketts Fair to commemorate the history of the Old Lucketts School and show its support for its continued preservation.

This year, the fair will be celebrating its 41st anniversary with entertainment ranging from music and antique shopping to food and rides. Enjoy fun activities like listening to Bluegrass music, eating delicious barbecue sandwiches and the famous hand-churned ice cream, shop for crafts and antiques, watch contests and demonstrations, and let the kids enjoy pony rides and petting zoos.  There will also be a Best Fruit Pie Contest and  the Largest Vegetable Contest.

The Annual Lucketts Fair will taking place on August 17-18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Children under 6 years are free.
