Sun, Fun, and Essential Oils

insect repellant loudoun countySummer is here! After our long snowy winter we’ll all be spending a lot of time outside enjoying all the fun of Summer. While we’re enjoying cookouts, the beach and just plain old lying around the patio, insects will be trying to “enjoy” us, yikes!!

Typically, we reach for the insect repellant from the drug store or DIY store. These products are often made with synthetic fragrances and other chemicals that may act
as neurotoxins in the body. According to Consumer Reports.org, one of the best ways to avoid being bitten is to wear long pants and long sleeves when out doors. That IS NOT my idea of Summer fun!

I suggest making your own simple and safe insect repellent with pure, safe therapeutic grade essential oils from Young Living.

If you forget your insect repellant at home and become an insect snack, you can always apply 1 to 2 drops of pure lavender and or peppermint oil mixed with a few drops of olive or coconut oil to reduce the itching and repel infection. Lavender and Peppermint have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic & antibacterial properties.

Remember…I’ve tried many essential oils and I only recommend Young Living Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.

Enjoy Your Summer!
