Wrinkle Reduction Without Downtime or Surgery

Peter KlainerReduce wrinkles and look years younger. There are over 50 muscles in your face and we use them to create different facial expressions. Over time, wrinkles form as collagen breaks down in these areas of facial expression. One way to reduce wrinkles and stop this collagen break-down is to inject Botox.

Wrinkle reduction takes years away from your face. The use of Botox will diminish wrinkles in the brow, forehead and around the eyes (crow’s feet). It can also be safely used in other areas of the face depending on a patient’s unique facial movements and in the neck to reduce banding that comes with getting older.

Botox is injected into the muscles identified as responsible for the wrinkles in question and is used in very small quantities. Botox works by blocking the receptors on the muscle responsible for initiating movement when signals are sent from the brain. Once injected, the muscles will relax resulting in the improved look of your wrinkles. A temporary block of that muscles ability to function occurs keeping lines from forming and allowing new collagen to build, further improving the overall appearance of that area.

Results from Botox generally take 5-14 days to be seen. You will see your skin smoothing, wrinkles reducing and improvements can occur for up to a month. Over time, our body creates new receptors on the muscle allowing return of movement. Therefore, to maintain wrinkle reduction, you will need to repeat the procedure every 3-6 months.

Botox can be used to reduce wrinkles in the following areas:
• In between the eyebrows
• Forehead
• Around the eyes {Crow’s feet)
• Brow for a mild non-surgical brow lift
• Around the mouth
• In the neck
